Importance of Fatherhood

Recent studies reveal hardcore evidence that children born to fatherless households are more likely to suffer financially, socially, emotionally, and developmentally. Consequently, communities must focus increased attention and resources to the needs of fathers.

  • 4 out of 10 children today grow up without their father at home

  • 70% of hardcore criminals grew up without fathers

  • 72% of adolescent murderers grew up without fathers

  • 20 of U.S. children today live in poverty, and most of them live in fatherless households

  • Girls in single parent households are 150% more likely to become pregnant and have babies out of wedlock than girls from a two parent family

  • Children in single-parent families are twice as likely to become involved with drugs or other health risks behavior compared to those in two parent families.

Ron J. Clark believes that father involvement is important to children, their mother, and society at large as well as men themselves.
